Founded in New York City, SolarSonic Soundsystem became the free party scene's answer to diesel generators and grid power.

 

the crew helped take the relentless, bass energy of jungle, drum & bass, and tekK from off grid gatherings to dancefloors across the city, running it all on an 18,000 watt rig powered entirely by solar battery banks. Loud, self sufficient, and unmistakably NYC, SolarSonic became a symbol of rave culture proving the party doesn't need the grid to survive.
